There are 19 boroughs of montreal, with their own elected mayor who works in a Bourough Hall. In this game, you will be capturing the boroughs by earning chips from challenges, and then placing those chips on boroughs by visiting a borough hall. But beware- other teams can steal your boroughs by placing more chips on them! The team that owns the most boroughs at the end of the game wins!

The game will take place on Saturday, June 27. The game will take place from 9 AM to 6 PM, with an one-hour lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM.
When the lunch break starts, at 12 PM, take note of your location. After 1 PM, you must return to that location before you resume taking game actions. (This is so that you can’t use your lunch break to move towards a challenge)
The initial participants are players at UdeM and McGill's physics departments. Anyone, even friends or people not affiliated with an university, may join the game as long as they ask an existing player nicely. Each team has their own team page; it is illegal to access another team's page.
You may only move around the city using public transit and muscle power; no cars or Ubers allowed. Bikes, including BIXI bikes, are allowed and we recommend you buy a pass before the game starts. We will require everyone participating to spend $11 on a STM unlimited weekend pass before the game begins.
Teams must stick together in one location and travel together. (If some team members have bikes but others don't, your team will be limited to walking speed) A team member may leave the team temporarily (say, to split up and get lunch), but are not considered part of the team and may not take official game actions until they meet up with the rest of the team.
If a team has less than 5 players, friends and family may join your team mid-game. Teams have a soft maximum of 5 players. There is no limit on the number of teams that can play. Teams may join mid-game but they will be at a disadvantage.
Challenges and borough halls are represented on the game map by a pin. To unlock a borough hall or challenge, you must be within 50 meters of the pin's location.
Challenge locations are publicly visible on the map, but you do not know what the challenge will be until you get there and reveal the challenge. Click the pin and press the button to reveal the challenge. Afterwards, complete the challenge in real life, then click the pin then the appropriate button to mark it as completed or failed.
Coins are earned by completing challenges. Each team starts with 20 coins.
Completing a borough challenge earns the team 10 coins and unlocks the borough. Completing a coin challenge earns the team 20 coins, but teams may not retry a failed coin challenge.
To place coins on a borough, a team must be physically present at that borough's borough hall. (Please be honest about this!) Then, click the borough hall icon or the borough itself, then click "Place Coins".
The team with the most coins placed on a borough owns that borough. On the map, a borough is tinted according to its owner's color. If another team places more coins on the borough, they will take ownership. Coins placed stay there forever and add together; for example, if you place 5 coins and then later place 5 coins on a borough, you have placed 10 coins total on the borough.
